Losing a loved one is one of the hardest experiences we can face. Finding a meaningful way to honour their memory can bring comfort throughout grief. For many, fundraising in memory of a loved one offers a way to keep their memory alive while doing good for others. Whether your special one was touched by childhood cancer or not, your efforts can help bring light and hope to children and families through vital research and family support.

Ways you can fundraise in memory

Organise your own fundraising

Bringing friends and family together to fundraise in memory of your loved one is a profound way of remembering them. Please let us know about your fundraising and who it commemorates by emailing [email protected] so we can make sure every penny raised is credited in their name. You can also view our fundraising pack or contact our team for support with planning your event or activity.

Funeral collections

You might choose to collect donations at your loved one's funeral. Your funeral director can often help to organise this. If there are people who would like to contribute but aren't able to attend the funeral, you might like to set up an online fundraising page. For questions about collecting donations from a funeral, contact us at [email protected].

Become a Team

If you'd like to fundraise on a regular basis, you might consider forming a Candlelighters Team. Teams are groups of people that come together to fundraise for Candlelighters and can include family, friends and local communities. Some of our existing Teams have been set up in memory of very special people.

Support and condolences

On behalf of the Candlelighters team, please accept our sincere condolences for your loss. For the families we support, please reach out to our Family Support team if there's any way we can help.

Alternatively, there may be other charities who can support you.
