We are here for you
We support the families of children and young people (0-19) with cancer and life-threatening haematological disorders receiving treatment primarily at Leeds Children’s Hospital. This support begins at diagnosis and lasts as long as is needed.
We support the whole family including the patient, parents, carers, siblings and grandparents. All the support we provide is free of charge.
We have a wide range of support available that can each be accessed at a time that is right for you. It can include:
Emotional support
- Adult's and children's talking therapy - 1-1 sessions to help process emotions and learn coping mechanisms.
- Wellbeing therapies - Holistic treatments like massage and reflexology to look after your wellbeing.
- Support groups - Safe spaces for parents, patients and siblings to meet others facing the same journey.
- Dedicated Family Support Team – our team are on hand at the hospital, at our family support centre, in your local community and over the phone to support you.
Practical support
- Hospital support - Support while staying in or visiting hospital.
- Accommodation - If you need to travel to receive treatment, we can provide emergency accommodation close to the hospital for up to 8 weeks.
- The Square - Our family support centre is open six days a week with a friendly team on hand for guidance and support.
- Support from other organisations – Our team work closely with other organisations and can help identify and advise other support you may be entitled to.
Financial support
