How we support families

A childhood cancer diagnosis turns lives upside down. We’re there for families from diagnosis to provide a range of emotional, practical and financial support.

Our tailored support helps make their journey that little bit easier and we’ll be there as long as they need us.

carer and child

However dire, helpless, and hopeless all of this felt, one thing that was a ray of light throughout the journey was Candlelighters.

Whenever people ask me the question “How do you cope?” Candlelighters is a key part of my answer. We would not want to be without them.

All in all, Candlelighters are the unsung heroes of the wards. A constant support, a kind word and a smile when we need it the most.

Supporting research in children's cancer

For over 40 years we've funded research to find better treatments and ways to care for children and young people with cancer. The projects we’ve funded have led to national and international improvements and we won’t stop until every child has the best possible chance of survival, the best possible support throughout, and the best possible quality of life during and after cancer.
