Where to set up a fundraising page
Setting up an online fundraising page is the easiest way to start fundraising for children with cancer. You can use any of the following platforms:
- JustGiving - The most widely recognised and used platform
- Enthuse
- GoFundMe - A good option if you’d like to fundraise for more than one charity
- Another platform of your choice

Steps to fundraising success

Personalise your page
Include what you're doing to fundraise and why. Add photos and updates on your event or challenge. If you're fundraising in support of or in memory of someone special, it might be nice to include a photo of them too.

Set a target
Make it achievable but ambitious. You can even include what things could be funded by people's donations.

Spread the word
Share far and wide, speaking to friends, family, and your local community about your fundraiser. Contact local press too, to ask if they would be interested in covering it!
Remember to share it a few times, adding updates on how it's going.

Gift Aid
Remind people to claim Gift Aid if they are eligible. It will boost their donations (and your total) by 25p per £1 at no extra cost to them.

Matched funding
Check with your employer whether they can match fund your total. Many workplaces have matched funding schemes which can double the amount you raise!

Thank your donors
Send timely thank yous to your supporters and let them know the difference they're helping to make.
"Candlelighters have supported me in a lot of ways; in remission and during my cancer stages. They have given me a lot of hope during the cancer and kept talking to me, which made me feel like I wasn't alone as much. Even when I was at my worst and as depressed as I was, they never gave up on me and it was just something that came naturally which was sweet to have people around me like that."
