We can support with branded banners, balloons, buckets, tins and t-shirts for your fundraiser. Just email us or call us on 0113 322 9283 to let us know what you need. These resources are free of charge to help make your fundraising a success and raise the most awareness possible. Please only request what you genuinely need to help us save costs!
We can’t promote individual fundraisers before they take place, but we do celebrate fundraising achievements afterwards on our social media channels. If you’d like your fundraising success to be shared publicly, please send any photos and videos to [email protected].
For help and advice on spreading the word before your fundraiser, read our handy fundraising pack!
While we aren’t able to attend every event we’re invited to, please chat with our fundraising team by calling 0113 322 9283 or emailing [email protected] and we’ll see if this is possible.
We're unable to provide prizes for supporter events due to the staff time this would require. If you need prizes for your event, we encourage you to reach out to local businesses who may be able to support with prizes. You can request an authorisation letter, which proves you are raising funds for Candlelighters, by emailing [email protected].
You’re welcome to use our ‘in support of’ logo on your fundraising and awareness-raising materials. This can be downloaded from our fundraising resources page. If you would like our logo in another format or colour, please email us. Please don’t use our regular logo without chatting with the team first.
Where possible, we prefer unrestricted donations as they allow us to be more responsive and invest in areas where the need is most urgent. However, if you'd like to discuss restricting your gift, please call our fundraising team on 0113 322 9283.
Thank you for raising funds for Candlelighters – it really is appreciated! You can pay in your fundraising online, in cash, by cheque or by bank transfer.
- To donate online, use the form on our website.
- Cash donations can be dropped at our family support centre, The Square. Please contact us to arrange this by calling 0113 322 9283 or emailing [email protected].
- Please make cheques payable to ‘Candlelighters Trust’ and send them to us at Candlelighters, 8 Woodhouse Square, Leeds, LS3 1AD.
- To make a donation by bank transfer, please contact us using the details above.
If you set up an online fundraising page like JustGiving or Enthuse, the money will be paid to us automatically – you don’t need to do anything else!
Our team can sometimes collect cash from you but please appreciate we are a small team and it’s better for us if you can arrange to get the money to us by yourself.
Where it’s not possible to drop cash off, we encourage supporters to pay it into your bank and then donate via our website. If you have an online page as part of your fundraising, you can pay any cash into your bank and donate it to your fundraising page as ‘offline donations’. Please note that donations made on behalf of other people will not qualify for Gift Aid.
It can take a couple of weeks for us to process your donation once we’ve received it (sometimes longer during busy periods). Once your donation has been processed, we’ll send you a thank you letter or email which confirms the amount we’ve received, including any Gift Aid. If you haven’t heard from us and you think you should have done, you can email us or call us on 0113 322 9283 to let us know.
The money you raise helps to support children and young people diagnosed with cancer and their families in Yorkshire. With your help, we provide a wide range of support in and around Leeds Children’s Hospital and in communities across the region. Our dedicated family support team provide emotional and practical support and we fund additional services like talking therapy and wellbeing treatments. We provide financial grants and support as well as holidays and family events to create special, happy memories. Your donations also help to fund our family support centre and home-from-home accommodation. You can find out more about any of these services in our support for families hub.
We receive no government funding so these vital and holistic services are all provided thanks to brilliant people like you. We also invest significantly in childhood cancer research to help diagnose cancer earlier, find better treatments, improve quality of life, increase survival, and attract and train the best healthcare professionals to care for children in Yorkshire. You can find out more about the research we currently fund and have previously funded in our research hub.
