Current Volunteering Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us. As we’re sure you will all understand, with the current COVID-19 pandemic we’re following the latest Government guidance, which means that for the time being, we need to put a hold on all volunteer activity. We will continue to review this and update our website according to the guidance we’re given as the situation progresses. We are planning ahead for Challenge Events over the coming months as if they’re still going ahead though the dates may be postponed by the event organisers so we will be in touch with any information regarding these as soon as we are notified. If you’re not registered to volunteer at a Challenge Event, please have a look at what’s available here and sign-up if you can help out, we’d really appreciate it! If you have any questions, please contact email@example.com.
2020 Challenge Events Volunteers
Volunteering at a challenge event is a fun and rewarding day out; it’s a great way to experience the fantastic atmosphere and be part of a brilliant team by marshalling, cheering or helping at the event village or as a massage therapist.
Ambassadors are a positive voice for Candlelighters. They help raise awareness and encourage people to support our work through speeches and presentations, cheque presentations and occasionally stalls.
Administration and Office Support Volunteer
We have a range of administration and office support roles in different teams so you can choose to gain experience in an area you want to develop or a role that matches your expertise.
Front of House Volunteers
Welcome families to our support centre and help them access all the wonderful services we have on offer. We need smiley, positive regular volunteers to make families feel at home.
Family Event Volunteer
We are looking for confident, fun and outgoing volunteers to help the project support worker and Head of Family Support to set up and run family support groups and events throughout the year.
Family Network Volunteer
We are looking for volunteers who’ve been personally affected by childhood cancer to help expand the Candlelighters Family Network across Yorkshire.
Volunteer Photographers & Videographers
Attending events such as marathons, 10ks, award ceremonies and fundraising events, our photographers capture our supporters’ incredible efforts and help us to shout about what they and the charity do.
We’re looking for a proactive volunteer who uses their own initiative to organise plants which keep the Teen Oncology & Paediatric Bone Marrow Transplant wards’ garden welcoming all year round.
Voluntary Work Placements
A few days a week for several weeks in a row, these flexible placements are designed to fit University Courses’ Work Placement requirements and provide you with experience in a relevant field.
Volunteer Delivery Driver
Provide our supporters with resources and equipment, including merchandise, buckets and collecting boxes, pop up stands, etc for their fundraising.
