We’re so proud to share that one of the wonderful Candlelighters fundraising team, Chris, has received the Yorkshire Fundraiser of the Year award from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising!
This award recognises exceptional work in the fundraising sector, and we couldn’t be more thrilled that Chris’s incredible passion and impact have been celebrated in this way after six years with Candlelighters.
“It’s a real honour to be recognised for my work at Candlelighters,” Chris shared. “Of course, the reward of generating support and partnerships for such an important charity is enough in itself, but it is fantastic for me – and the team around me – to be recognised for our work.”
Chris works closely with individuals and businesses who are able to make significant contributions to Candlelighters. He adds, “I love finding out what people want to get back through their giving and what difference they want to see in the world – then helping them achieve those things. It’s so rewarding for me to see that everyone benefits – me, the donor and ultimately the families we care for.”
Chris’s impact can be seen in the brilliant relationships he’s helped grow – including with one of our fantastic corporate supporters, Yorkshire Spa Retreat. They’ve pledged a generous £25,000 per year for three years, helping Candlelighters continue our vital work.

Our partnership with Candlelighters is growing every year – we’re really looking forward to our 2025 fundraising, including the Wild Atlantic Way 600-mile charity bike ride in Ireland!”

He’s proactive, ambitious, and a real expert in his role – helping others make the biggest difference possible. He’s a huge team player, always there to encourage and support, and make the world a better place.”
