In July, we hosted our annual Quiz Night, bringing together individuals and businesses for a night of trivia, fun and fundraising for families here in Yorkshire affected by childhood cancer.
Thank you so much to everyone who joined us, whether it was your first time attending a Business Collaboration event, or you’re a regular, it’s always brilliant to see people making new connections or making time to catch up with current ones.
The evening brought together businesses and individuals from across the region, creating an opportunity to network, have some fun and meet like-minded individuals who share a passion to make a difference.

From Bucket Golf and keepy-uppies, to some questionable kazoo playing, it wouldn’t be a Candlelighters event without plenty of fun and some healthy competition. Most importantly, we heard about how your support helps us to be there for families through initiatives like Champ’s Pantry and the vital support that our Family Support Worker’s provide.
Thanks to your support and generosity, we’re thrilled to share that the Quiz Night raised a fantastic £10,504. This amount will make a huge difference to children and young people with cancer and their families.
We want to say a huge thank you to our headline sponsors, Piccadilly Motors Ltd, as well as our sponsors RBC Brewin Dolphin, Gleeds and LDC for supporting this fantastic event. We also want to thank Aqualand Industries for Bucket Golf, and everyone who supported the event, through raffle prizes or helping to make the evening happen.
Tom Robertshaw, our Head of Fundraising said: “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, our sponsors, and everyone who played a part in making our annual Business Collaboration Quiz Night such a memorable evening.
Your incredible generosity has raised a fantastic amount that will help ensure families continue to receive vital emotional, practical and financial support whenever they need.
For 50 years, we’ve been there for families in Yorkshire affected by childhood cancer and with your support, we can continue providing that care for many years to come.”

37 teams took on the quiz this year, but only one could be victorious so huge congratulations to Team Fork Handles who were this year’s winners! We hope you’ll join us next year to try and take their crown…
