We’re delighted to recognise Yorkshire Housing as our Company of the Month for May!
Yorkshire Housing have supported Candlelighters as their Charity of the Year for 2024/25 and have been incredible, fundraising in support of children and families facing childhood cancer.
The team took on lots of fundraisers, from quizzes, a golf tournament, bake sales, the Leeds 10k, and everything inbetween! But a standout moment for the team was taking on a 50km walk to celebrate 50 years of Candlelighters supporting children and families.
Members of the team from Yorkshire Housing walked from their offices in Leeds along the canal to Bingley – and back again. A challenge they called ‘A race to The Place!’ Some of them said it was their toughest challenge yet, but it was a true team effort, with colleagues encouraging each other every step of the way.
Throughout their fundraising, Yorkshire Housing raised over £33,700 for Candlelighters, which will help to provide emotional, practical and financial support to families when they need us most.
This incredible support could fund our Family Support Centre, The Square, for two months, keeping our support centre open for families so they can access vital services and support – what a fantastic impact.
