This month, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible Yorkshire Property Charitable Trust, who chose to support Candlelighters at their annual lunch event this year, held at the First Direct Arena in Leeds. The event brought together the region’s property and construction community for a truly inspiring afternoon and raised an amazing £16,752 to support families affected by childhood cancer. Guests were also treated to an inspiring talk from Kevin Sinfield, who shared his incredible story of friendship, resilience, and determination as he continues to honour his teammate and best friend Rob Burrow, who sadly passed away earlier this year after his courageous battle with MND. His words left a lasting impact on everyone in the room. — Tom Robertshaw, Head of Fundraising at Candlelighters
This phenomenal total could help fund the running costs of the Candlelighters Cottage for an entire year, providing a home-from-home for families needing to stay close to their child while they receive treatment at Leeds Children’s Hospital.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made this event such a success, from the businesses who kindly donated prizes for the auction and silent auction, to all the guests who gave so generously on the day. Your kindness and community spirit will make such a positive difference to families across Yorkshire.
“We’re so grateful to everyone involved in this fantastic event, and to the Yorkshire Property Charity Lunch for choosing to support Candlelighters this year. The generosity shown by so many people will have a real and lasting impact, helping us continue to bring some comfort to families facing childhood cancer.”
From everyone at Candlelighters, thank you to the Yorkshire Property Charitable Trust and all involved in this wonderful event. Your generosity and commitment are helping to make a difference to families across Yorkshire every single day.
