Darren and Shaun, two friends from York, have now embarked on their epic tri challenge which includes kayaking, hiking and cycling, to raise funds for Candlelighters in memory of Nioni Grant.

Today (2nd June) is DAY TWO of this massive challenge. Here is an update of how they are getting on…

Day One – Involved kayaking the 11-mile length of Windermere to NewbyBridge, before jumping on the bikes and Cycling 31 miles to Ingleton.

Day Two – TODAY is perhaps the most gruelling part of the challenge, a 40-mile hike from Ingleton across the Yorkshire Dales to Lofthouse 10 mile north of Pateley Bridge. The weather is also being a real challenge for the trio today!

Day Three  – Tomorrow, they hop back onto their bikes for a 50-mile cycle to Boroughbridge.

Day Four – A true test of endurance on Sunday; Kayaking 20 miles from Boroughbridge along the rivers Ure and Ouse to the finish line in York.

It is great to see how they are getting on and we wish them all the best for the next three days…
