Pink Party Ball raises over £70K

Charity news
Roz Walton

We want to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in organising The Pink Party Ball, which took place last month at The Majestic Hotel in Harrogate, and raised an incredible £71,000 for Candlelighters.

The event was organised by a committee of dedicated people, including local businessman Paul Meehan and his partner Sheree Hemingway, Sue Patterson, one of the trustees at Candlelighters, Catherine Kennedy, Rachel Smith and Kim Murray. They welcomed 300 guests for a night of candlelit dining and fun including live and silent auctions, raffles, and other fundraising.

Mum Amy also spoke to the guests about her four-year-old son Noah, who is currently being treated for cancer, and how the family is being supported by Candlelighters. Everyone was so moved by the challenges that Noah and his family have faced since his diagnosis.

Paul Meehan, said “It has been an absolute honour to be involved in this event, to meet Candlelighters families, team members and supporters, and to help raise invaluable funds to keep this support available for families facing every parent’s biggest fear – childhood cancer.”

Emily, Candlelighter’s CEO, attended the evening. She said “The Pink Party Ball was a truly wonderful evening. We’re so thankful to everyone involved — from the amazing organising committee, to the generosity of the many people behind the scenes who helped make this night happen, to every guest who contributed to such an incredible night. It was inspiring to see so many people coming together to make a difference for children with cancer and their families.”
