Our very first ‘Company of the Month’ award goes to The Pure Technology Group, who this month celebrate donating £75,000 to Candlelighters.

We have been so lucky to partner with The Pure Technology Group for 5 years and are just consistently amazed at the passion, commitment and support of their whole team to help Candlelighters do what we do.

So…how do they help? It’s hard to summarise, but here are just a few examples of what this fantastic company do for Candlelighters

They fund the role of our amazing Dinner lady Elaine.

Every month, they make it possible for Elaine to be there for our children on the ward full time, visiting with her sweet trolley, ensuring children have food that they want and can eat after treatments, and being there for parents too. Here are some of the things our families have said about Elaine

“We all love Elaine. She brightens up everyday and everywhere she goes.”

“She made it so I didn’t have to leave my baby on her own”

“There were days [he] would only eat his breakfast if Elaine bought it for him”

All of this is possible because of The Pure Technology Group’s generous sponsorship of the role.

Elaine said: “Thank you to everyone at The Pure Technology Group for funding my role here at the Children’s Hospital. It really does mean so much to the children and their parents”

They donate each month

Each month, some of their wonderful staff donate from their own salaries, ensuring that we are able to plan for the future, by making a regular donation.

They take on challenges

The team put themselves through gruelling challenge events. This year, this adventurous lot attempted Tough Mudder, and raised over £1700. They call themselves ‘PureMud’ and also completed this challenge in 2018!

Here they are before and after in 2019!

In the past, they have also attempted the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, and Snowdon by night, and in 2020, they will be completing a group Skydive!

They volunteer

Staff at The Pure Technology Group are always happy to help! In 2018, their team dressed as mascots and volunteered at our Christmas Party, helping us to make the day special for over 200 of our families.

They raise money in the workplace

This team are always busy fundraising! In November, Gina and Jen from Candlelighters were delighted to attend their staff bake offs in both their Wakefield and Farsley offices. The enthusiasm for the staff was so amazing, and their cakes were delicious. They will also be doing a grand Christmas raffle, which happens each year!

Look at these amazing cakes!

They also raise money for us at their events. In 2018, and 19 we attended the ‘PT’ events. These are the biggest tech parter events in the UK! We are always delighted to attend and this year raised over £1000 from a raffle, for which TPTG donated the prizes.

They donate important items

The Pure Technology Group are there when we need them. In 2017, they donated vouchers to provide to our teenagers for presents at Christmas and in 2018, they kindly provided a rather large television for the Candlelighters Cottage. The Candlelighters Cottage provides a home from home environment for families, so having a TV they can watch together, even for a few minutes, is a great resource.

Zebby from TPTG was delighted to deliver the television to the cottage!

We are hugely grateful to this incredible team for continuing to support Candlelighters! We absolutely love working with them, and can’t wait for another amazing year in 2020.

Thank you everyone at The Pure Technology Group!
