We’re over the moon to share that Candlelighters has won two fantastic awards, a huge recognition of the work we do for children with cancer and their families across Yorkshire.
At the Yorkshire Choice Awards, we were named winners of the Charity Excellence Award, chosen from 38 charities nominated by the public. These awards celebrate the individuals and organisations making a real difference in Yorkshire.
We also won the Challenge to Change Award at the national Charity Governance Awards, recognising the work of our trustees in launching Champ’s Pantry, a practical support service that helps families cope with the hidden costs of hospital stays.
Emily, our Chief Executive, said
“we’re thrilled to have our work recognised by two independent award panels…
We were one of 38 Yorkshire-based charities to have been nominated by members of the public for the Yorkshire Choice Awards. We’re absolutely delighted and grateful to the Awards panel for their choice of us as the winner.
And we received the Charity Governance Award for our work in setting up Champs Pantry, a food service for families whose children are receiving hospital cancer treatment.”
“We’re only able to provide the support we do because of the wonderful people, communities, and businesses that support Candlelighters. These awards are as much a testament to their dedication to improving the lives of children with cancer!”
