For most of us Christmas is referred to as “the most wonderful time of the year”. However, there are many children and their families who are on a whole different journey around the festive season. Every year around 150 children in Yorkshire are diagnosed with cancer. We offer practical, emotional and financial support to these children and their families. Our work lasts from the moment of diagnosis and for as long as a family needs them.

This winter, here at Candlelighters, we as a charity need to raise over £60,000 to continue supporting families at this time. We want to be there for our families more than ever before, enabling them to make special memories, and to access all the support they might need. With a whole range of events and activities planned for all the family, from festive Grandparents Tea Parties, a visit to Stockheld Park for their Sibling Group, throwing our annual Christmas Party for families in Leeds and in Hull AND for the first time, this year we will be opening between Christmas and New Year at their Support Centre, The Square, meaning we can continue to provide wellbeing and talking therapies, especially to families staying over on the children’s ward at Leeds Children’s Hospital over Christmas.

That’s why we needs your help! Communities, schools, work places, family and friends – Why not purchase some Candlelighters Christmas Raffle Tickets?
