Could you give £25 to bring some fun and comfort to a child with cancer?
When a child diagnosed with cancer is admitted to hospital, it can be very lonely and isolating for them. Suddenly finding themselves away from their friends and siblings can be very tough, as they miss out on their normal routine and spending time playing with other children.
The Candlelighters Family Support Workers are on the wards and at the clinic to bring some happiness, and help children escape cancer for a little while.
Could you donate £25 to help break the monotony of hospital for a child with cancer?
By spending some one-on-one time with a child on the hospital ward, our Family Support Workers can bring some much-needed fun and distraction – playing games or doing activities. They can also help relieve anxiety by helping the child prepare for a procedure, or understand their treatment.
Our amazing Community Support Workers ensure families continue to receive all the support they need once they have left the hospital. Because of your kind support, our they can be there for families closer to their home, in their community, or at one of the many Candlelighters family support groups and events.
You make all this possible. Because of you, these families do not have to face cancer alone.
