Corporate supporters, Park Leisure, choose a charity theme every year to raise money. The theme this year is ‘helping to fight cancer’ with proceeds going to Candlelighters and Cancer Research UK.

The team set the bar high last year with their 11-day cycle across Britain but this time, they are taking it one step further. The park leisure directors have taken on the almighty challenge of cycling 700 miles, in 7 days, across 7 countries with hopes of raising an incredible £100,000!

The cycle will take the team across Europe, starting in Czech Republic and going through Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia and Italy, before ending in Venice. Certain sections of the route will be particularly challenging and brutal including a demanding climb across the Alps to reach Italy.

The CEO of Park Leisure, Miles Dewhurst commented saying:

“We are under no illusion that this will be no easy feat, its going to be one of the most physically difficult things we have ever completed in our lives. However, we are really passionate about raising as much money as possible for these charities and hope we can do the challenge justice”.

Miles Dewhurst – CEO

We wish them the best of luck with the end of their challenge and can’t wait to hear from them when they are back in the UK! From everyone here at Candlelighters, thank you, the money raised is going to make a significant difference to the lives of families facing childhood cancer.
