Superstar Layla Wray is going above and beyond for Candlelighters!

As part of an ambitious goal, Layla and Max Dalby have set their sights on a whole year of extreme challenges, at least one in every single month of 2018!

She has recently completed an impressive 50-kilometre ultramarathon, scaling epic mountains in the Lake District and finishing as 17th female position!

Layla, from Harrogate, said: “Saturdays 50-kilometre ultramarathon was the hardest thing I’ve ever done! I cried 4 times out there as my whole body was in agony, missing toenails etc haha but I kept thinking this is only 7 hours of my life, what those children have to go through is a million times worse, so I sucked it up and crossed the finish line in 17th female position. 660 started the race but only 440 people finished it as it was so so hard, 50k over endless mountains in the Lake District, but I’ve raised more money from it so it was worth it!”

“I’m starting to think I’ll finally hit that goal of raising £2,000 sooner rather than later, I’m so happy!”
