This Christmas, IBF Featherweight World Chamption boxer, Josh Warrington, is supporting Candlelighters by offering the prize of a personal training session in our annual Christmas Raffle.

Josh Warrington, who was born in Leeds, has supported Candlelighters for many years now and is delighted to be able to offer this ‘money can’t buy prize’ to the raffle. Josh said, “For many years I am proud to have supported Candlelighters. The children’s smiles and laughter, even through all the treatment, is beyond words. I genuinely don’t believe I would be stood here holding a world title without the inspiration these children and their families have given me. I will be forever grateful for meeting these warriors. Please help Candlelighters to continue fighting children’s cancer and help those families who need it most”

Each year, around 150 children in Yorkshire are diagnosed with cancer. When a child receives a diagnosis, lives are turned upside down in an instant, not just for the child but for their parents, grandparents, siblings, friends and extended family. Candlelighters provide financial, emotional and practical support to children and families affected by childhood cancer across Yorkshire, from diagnosis and for as long as families need it

This Christmas, we aim to raise over £60,000 to support families over the festive period and the annual Christmas raffle is a great way for people to show their support. Candlelighters Fundraising Manager, Tom Robertshaw said, “We are extremely grateful to Josh Warrington for donating this fantastic prize to our raffle. Christmas is such an important time at Candlelighters and we have lots planned to make it extra special for our families, including festive Tea Parties, special trips for Siblings and of course our annual family Christmas Party.”

Other prizes in the raffle include a city break with flights for two in Amsterdam and a week-long stay for six at Camel Creek Adventure Park in Cornwall.
