In March we at Gleeds were assigned a task as the company reaches 130 years in business for offices worldwide to raise over a one week period 21 – 25th September to raise £130,000 for a charity(s) of our choice.   The Leeds office decided to support a local based charity and Candlelighters was the one for the Leeds Office to help.

With the date set of the 24th September 2015 for our fundraising activities to happen, a brainstorming session was held where it was decided to do the 130kms cycle ride around Yorkshire and the collection in the Merrion Centre for those of us who are unfit as well as an Evening Event to celebrate the victories made through the day.

We could also use the run up to the 24th September to hold smaller events which is where the cakes sales and dress down Friday’s came in.   But the main bulk of fundraising had to be on the specific day chosen.

With a successful day of fundraising behind us and some very tired fundraisers we are pleased to share that we managed to raise £3,671.33 with money still coming in!  We hope to move onto our next Candlelighters challenge soon.

Thank you to all in the team who pulled together to support this really important charity.
