About this Event

A unique chance to see Ripley Castle like you have never before, abseiling down from the roof.Lady Ingilby is opening the Ripley Castle’s doors on Sunday 24 April for a very special event – a 40ft abseil off the castle’s roof for Candlelighters. This will be the first ever charity abseil authorised from one of Yorkshire’s most impressive landmarks.‘’I am delighted to be able to welcome to Ripley supporters of this very special charity. I have abseiled down from my roof in the past for free checking the brickwork so I’m delighted that this time we are doing it for such a good cause. I might even be tempted!’’Registration is £10 per person, and we recommend participants raise £100 each towards our work.Minimum age to take part: 8 years old - please note that parents (unless they take part) will not be allowed access to the tower and roof. All participants will be met at the tower entrance and accompanied by the abseil company to the kitting area and the roof.
