About this Event

Nick Austin from Malton, North Yorkshire was inspired by friends, who have received support from Candlelighters, to raise funds for the charity.

Due to his experience and passion for Karate he has challenged himself to a ‘100 Kata Challenge’

On Friday 26th of October at 5pm the doors of Norton College’s Sports Hall will be opened for everyone to attend what will be an exciting, interactive and engaging charity fundraising event.

With the goal of raising as much money as possible to donate to Candlelighters Nick has prepared multiple karate themed activities to engage in, along with a cake sale, tea and coffee, live performances and a competition with the chance of winning some great prizes! Entry is completely free, though donations will be greatly appreciated both at the entrance and throughout the event.

During this 4 hour event, Nick will be undertaking a challenge to perform 100 kata in a row!

Not sure what a ‘kata’ is? Come down on the 26th of October and you’ll find out – though I assure you, a kata is not simple!
