Champ’s Pink Army Prize Draw

Along with Acorn Wellness Retreat we’d like to thank you for helping to support children with cancer through your involvement with Champ's Pink Army. All members of Champ's Pink Army will automatically be entered into a prize draw with the chance to win a retreat day for two at Acorn Wellness Retreat. You can increase your chance of winning by continuing to act as ambassadors for Candlelighters.

Every time you:

  • Fundraise for Candlelighters
  • Volunteer at a Candlelighters Event or
  • Direct a family member to The Square

You’ll be able to submit another entry into the prize draw. The more things you do, they more chance you have of winning this fantastic prize!

How to Enter

  1. Join Champ's Pink Army - chat to one of the Candlelighters team if you're not sure how.
  2. Between 25th May 2023 and 30th September 2023, fundraise for Candlelighters, volunteer (or register to) at a Candlelighters event, or direct a family to The Square.
  3. Fill in the online form once you've completed any of these actions - each action is an entry and there's no limit on the amount of times you can do them. The more you do the more entries you have!

1. About Us

1.1 The Candlelighters Trust is a registered charity in England & Wales, charity number 1045077.
1.2 Candlelighters provides emotional, practical and financial support to children and families affected by childhood cancer across Yorkshire, as well as investing in vital childhood cancer research. More information about Candlelighters can be found at https://www.candlelighters.org.uk/.

2. The Prize

2.1 The prize is one free holistic wellness retreat day for two supplied by?Acorn Wellness Retreat.  
2.2 The retreat day voucher is valid for 12 months from the date you receive the voucher. 
2.3 The prize for the winner is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered. All other expenses during the break must be paid for by the prize winner. 
2.4 Candlelighters reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond Candlelighters' control makes it necessary to do so. 

3. How to Participate

3.1 To enter, complete the form on the https://www.candlelighters.org.uk/champs-pink-prize-draw/ webpage every time you either fundraise, register to volunteer or direct a family to The Square. Your fundraising or directing of families to The Square must have taken place between 25/05/2023 and 30/09/2023. Your volunteering can take place after then but you must have registered your intention to volunteer by 30/09/2023. 
3.2 You can enter multiple times – once for each of the activities listed above (fundraising, registering to volunteer or directing families to The Square). 
3.3 The prize draw is open to staff aged 18 years or over working at Leeds Children’s Hospital who are members of Champ's Pink Army. One entry will automatically be made for each member of Champ's Pink Army. Additional entries must be made as per points 5 and 6.
3.5 The opening date for entries is 9:00am GMT on 25/05/2023. The closing date is 11:59pm GMT on 30/09/2023. Entries received after this time will not be accepted.
3.6 Candlelighters accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault of any kind.

4. Winner Selection

4.1 A winner will be chosen by a random draw performed by a computer process on 12/10/2023. 
4.2 The winner will be contacted via telephone and/or email within 1 week of the draw. The winner acknowledges that Candlelighters may have to provide their personal details during the course of this prize draw to Acorn Wellness Retreat for the purpose of providing the voucher. 
4.3 If the winner does not respond to Candlelighters within 14 days of being notified by Candlelighters, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited and Candlelighters will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above. 

5. General Conditions

5.1 Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. Candlelighters reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions. 
5.2 The decision of Candlelighters regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it. 
5.3 Candlelighters reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the prize draw where it becomes necessary to do so. 
5.4 Insofar as is permitted by law, Candlelighters, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of Candlelighters, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected. 

6. Use of your Information

6.1 By providing your information when entering the prize draw, we will use this information for the purposes of administering the draw, and may also contact you to discuss your entries in further detail.
6.2 Where you have consented to receiving further information from Candlelighters, we will use your personal information to send you these communications.
6.3 All personal data held by us will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and Candlelighters' privacy policy which can be found here.
