An exciting event took place yesterday to celebrate the significant efforts of Central Yorkshire Scouts who raised over £6000 for Candlelighters through the Youth Commissioners Challenge 2017-2018.

But to top it all off, we were joined by none other than Chief Scout, Bear Grylls! He made a flying and grandiose visit, rolling in on a helicopter and sharing his axe-wielding wisdom. Despite his short visit, down-to-earth Bear made every effort to thank the Scouts for their achievement and emphasise how important fundraising was. He even had the time for a quick photo with us in the #Candlelighters frame!

We would like to thank not only Bear himself, but the connections made by the Lord Mayor which has allowed us to make a huge reach in a short time. And of course, the Central Yorkshire Scouts for their incredible achievement.
