With over 50 businesses, café’s, schools, independent shops, families and supporters already signed up to join in with their very pink campaign, they are sure turn Yorkshire pink in style! #PINKITUP will take over Yorkshire from the 10th -16th June 2019 with a whole range of fundraising activities and support planned throughout the week. Independent shops in Horsforth on Town Street are lining up for their chance to win #BESTPINKWINDOW, including Eden Bespoke Flowers who have been rallying up their shop neighbours to get involved with the campaign.

Famous landmarks in Yorkshire will be showing their support for Candlelighters as they light up their town pink! Keep your eyes out for First Direct Arena, Leeds Town Hall, as well as, Knaresborough Castle, Huddersfield Town Hall, The Light in Leeds, plus many more! Candlelighters are so grateful for their support!

In partnership with Leeds Children’s Hospital, Candlelighters will be pinking’ up Ward 31, supporting the Oncology and Haematology clinic over at Leeds General Infirmary and are planning their Pink Pavillion Party, at The Pavillion (a space funded by Candlelighters for children and families to use to get away from the clinical setting of the hospital yet still be within reach of expert medical care) for children on the ward, as well as pink arts and crafts activities throughout the week!

If you want to take your pink fundraising to the heights! Why not take on their #PINKITUP Abseil Fundraiser? Taking place on the 8th and 12th June at The University of Leeds’s Michael Sadler Building. Take in the views of Leeds city skyline as you abseil down in your bright pink Candlelighters top, or fancy dress, officially “PINKING it up” for Candlelighters. With nearly 80 absailers signed up already, Candlelighters are looking forward to this event and hope to raise awareness of their work by taking on the thrill of a 60ft abseil at Leeds University. Taking on this challenge, are law firm Plexus Ltd, who have chosen Candlelighters as their Charity of the Year.  ‘Plexus Law are excited to be supporting Candlelighter’s #PINKITUP Abseil Fundraiser in June. We are thrilled to raise funds for this worthy cause and to get involved in such an exhilarating fundraising activity. Who doesn’t want to see a bunch of lawyers hanging off the side of a building on their lunch break?! Best of luck to all the participants, from all at Plexus Law’ – Alison Matthew at Plexus Law Ltd.

Families and supporters having been warming up their #BEPINK skills at the Candlelighters family support centre, The Square, popping in for a cuppa and a chat whilst playing dress up with staff from the Candlelighters team. Helena, Marketing and Communications Officer at Candlelighters said, ‘This very pink fundraising campaign is so inclusive of everyone, no matter where you are, whether it’s a local café taking part, a solicitors firm, families who are supported by us, or simply wearing pink socks at school, #PINKITUP is an amazing way to raise awareness for Candlelighters and to hopefully raise some great funds for our charity’. Local supporter, Stacy is planning to throw her very own Pink Street Party in Wortley. ‘I am fundraising to raise awareness and raise funds for the amazing work Candlelighters do in supporting their families. We’ll be holding a BBQ, tombola, tin can alley game. Tea, coffee and cakes. A quiz and my best friend has been sponsored to have her head shaved at the event!!’ – Stacy Proctor, Candlelighters Supporter.
