Lee Dane and his wife Emma, who live in Bradford chose Candlelighters are their charity to support this year. Lee is Captain at Calverley Golf Club and he wanted to support a local children’s charity, after reading what Candlelighters do they themselves a target to raise £5,000 through various events from January 2018 until the end of Jan 2019.
Their first event at Calverley Golf Club on 21st April launched their fundraising. It got off to an amazing start with lots of people attending their Fancy Dress Fundraiser. There were some incredible outfits and they raised awareness and a whopping £862!
On 14th July Lee, Emma and their friends set off to tackle the Yorkshire 3 peaks. Thank you to all of Lee and Emma’s friends that took part including Jodie Ellis, Callum Ellis, Ashley and Kelly Porter, Monique and Glyn Harris, Sarah and Steve Hill, Matty Hawley, Steve Ball and Les Pickles.
On 21st July the couple organised a fun-filled Captains day at the golf club throughout the day and evening which raised an amazing £2556.
So far, Lee and Emma have raised over £7,000. £2,000 more than their original target for the year and they still have five months to go.
Thank you so much to both of you for your time, support and enthusiasm in raising an incredible amount. It will make a huge difference to our families.
The next event is a Halloween Party on 27th October at Calverley Golf Club.
