On Friday the 13th October, escapologist, Antony Britton took on the mammoth challenge of the longest “full body burn” run without using oxygen, hoping to smash to current Guinness World Record.

Antony invited people to come along and spectate with a suggested donation for entry. All the money raised, as well as sponsors on his online fundraising page are being donated to Candlelighters.

Not only did he break one world record with the full body burn but blazed through another, which was the fastest 100 metre sprint, completed in 24.5 seconds.

Antony with his Guinness World Records!

He managed this impossible task wearing anti burn gel, several layers of overalls, balaclavas and boots, not to mention the cloak of flames wrapped around him!

Antony commented saying, “Raising the profile and funds for Candlelighters is an honour. The children are the bravest humans and if the funds raised help them in their battle then it’s all worthwhile.”

We would like to thank Antony for his magnificent effort and congratulate him on his two new Guinness World Records. The money raised is going to make a huge difference to families facing childhood cancer across Yorkshire.
