Earlier this year Ian Clarkson, Dad of Emily Clarkson who was diagnosed with Infant Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in 2018 aged just 9 months old, set a challenge of a lifetime.

On the 24th July 2019 Ian took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks, not only once but twice in one day! This massive challenge was to support both Candlelighters and CLIC Sargent and he completed this incredible challenge in an amazing 14 hours 33 mins!

Ian raised a phenomenal total of £6302.38 for Candlelighters which equates to £1000 per peak!

“Ian and his family (now commonly referred to as Team Emily) are absolutely amazing. To see them all come together and create something so positive out of a really difficult situation is so inspiring. What they have achieved is unbelievable and without them Candlelighters couldn’t continue to support families affected by childhood cancer.” says Chloe, Community Fundraiser at Candlelighters.

Since Ian’s challenge his family, friends and local community of Leyburn have all come together inspired by his efforts and are continuing to fundraise still to this day!

Keep a look out for Team Emily’s other challenges and events on their Facebook page!
