On Saturday 14 November, Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire led a group of brave souls on a crunching challenging: walking on broken glass for children with cancer.
Taking place at DIG, York, the event raised £5,000 for Candlelighters. These funds could pay for 50 Candlelighters Chritsmas grants, to help families affected by childhood cancer at this time of the year.
Anne Bagshaw, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, comments: “It was a privilege and a pleasure to support Candlelighters for the first time this year. Here is a charity that helps to bring joy to families facing extraordinary circumstances, which is especially helpful at this special time of year.
“We hope to continue our partnership with Candlelighters for many years to come, and are very proud of all those who took part, including our very own Lisa Edwards, Hannah Johnson, Sam Evans and Rachel Morgan, from the team here at Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire.”
Noemie Salvaudon, event fundraiser at the charity, said: “Well done to everyone who took part! It was so impressive hearing the crunch of breaking glass from the first step the first participant took. The staff at DIG did a wonderful job showing the children around the venue when their parents were in training.”
“We rely entirely on donations to fund our work, so events like these are essential. We really appreciate the support received from all participants and their sponsors, and from Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire’s sponsorship of the event.”
