Candlelighters are delighted to announce that they have been selected as Queen Mary’s School’s charity for the year!

To support Candlelighters, the school (based in Topcliffe) has planned a variety of fun fundraising events, that the whole school can get involved with, throughout the year – the first of which was a ‘wear a wig Wednesday’ event held in late November.

Our Community Fundraisers Chloe Marsh and Nicki Hood attended the event and were extremely impressed by the variety (and size!) of the wigs worn by the girls – one student had gotten particularly creative with, quite literally, a ‘birds nest’ on her head! Given the task of selecting the school house with the best wigs, Chloe and Nicki had quite the job on their hands, concluding that everyone really was a winner!

The school has already raised a staggering total over £1000 for Candlelighters and has many more exciting plans in the pipeline, including a fashion show event set to be held in February.

Candlelighters would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to all the staff, students and parents at Queen Mary’s who have worked hard to raise funds for Candlelighters so far.
