About this Event
To complete this route is to undertake one of the great outdoor challenges of the UK. It will be a tough day, but worth it for that feeling of satisfaction upon completion.
The scenery is dramatic and ever changing, wildlife abounds as do carpets of flowers encouraged by the nutrient rich soils of the Limestone pavement.
We start and finish in the sleepy village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale, from here we can observe much of the route that lies waiting for discovery.
Last year, the ACCA West Yorkshire Network adopted Candlelighters as their charity of the year. 50 of their members (accountancy and finance professionals) took part in the Three Peaks Challenge on a beautiful sunny day in May – the fastest completing it in 8 hours 40 minutes and the slowest in over twelve hours, raising £7000 for Candlelighters on the day.
Mark Laine-Toner, ACCA West Yorkshire Chair, said ‘ACCA members put in a huge effort to raise the money and to hike up those three hills for twelve hours. They are proud of themselves and proud to have raised so much for a local charity’.
This year the challenge is on Saturday 28 May. Registration fee is £25 per person, and we recommend you raise a minimum of £175 each.
